Because if the wire insulation burns out &lt;em&gt;inside&lt;/em&gt; the seal, it doesn&amp;rsquo;t matter how waterproof your exterior is. The short happens internally, and the whole thing fails.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;A quick heads-up on installation&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;There is a trade-off here. These tight seals make the wiring a bit more rigid.&#xA;If you bend these leads too sharply during install, you risk cracking that potting compound.
